About insidetheclubhouse

I was raised in Arlington Stadium in
Arlington, Texas. Not literally, but my family and I were
Texas Rangers’ season ticket holders for 7 years when I was a
child. It was there they my passion for baseball was formed.
I have since worked in professional baseball for 9 seasons.
My first job in baseball was as a bat boy for the Mobile
BaySharks of the independent Texas-Louisiana League. I cut my
teeth in a small trailer that was used as a clubhouse by
Butch Hobson, Neil Allen, and Don Carmen, among others. I
spent three years as a merchandising assistant with the
Mobile BayBears while pursuing a degree in Sports & Event
Marketing at the University of South Alabama. I fell in to
the career of Clubhouse Manager with the Birmingham Barons in
2001. It was a thankless job that often required me to work
upwards of a 100 hours a week, but it was AWESOME. I was the
Clubhouse Manager for the Augusta GreenJackets in 2008 and I
travelled with the team that season. I only had one day off
the entire season, but I had the opportunity to tour the
South Atlantic League, cities such as Kannapolis, Greensboro,
Savannah, Lakewood, and two different Charlestons. I have
been the Home Clubhouse Manager for the Birmingham Barons and
have called Birmingham, Alabama “home” since the 2009 season.
I am working in my dream profession.
